Red clay tiles cover most of the houses in Brazil. It is a very common site, very pretty too. Our house has the Spanish tiles, rounded shape rather than the flat imperial or shingle clay tile. The problem is, they break easy. We knew when we bought the house that the broken roof clay tiles had been replaced. One morning I decided to go up during a hard rain to check out the attick and see how the roof was doing. The Lord had been protecting us all this time. The water was coming in around the broken cement that holds down the ridge lines. The old cement and chalk mix had become powder over the years. Take a look at what was happening. Water was running in and down the wooden rafters creating pools of water on our ceiling top. the wood had not yet begin to rot. Praise the Lord it only had been coming in dripping rather than gushing. The pools would dry up, and the wood too, in the heat. But over time, more damage could have been done. If you know São Paulo, the rain here REALLY comes down.
- CONCRETE JUNGLES - interesting tidbits on Brazil & São Paulo
São Paulo is an old city, 455 years old, but very modern. Here is the new bridge that just went up close to COMEV. Did you know São Paulo is... - in the top 10 largest metro populations - largest city in southern hemisphere; - 14th most globalized city in world; - economic center of South & Latin America; -19th richest city in world; - provides 36% of the states goods and services; - holds 63% of headquarters for multinational companies in Brazil; - responsible for 28% of Brazil's scientific productions; - holds largest population of Japanese outside of Japan; - has more italians than Rome.
- COMEV - reaching out with audio-visuals

Well we have been pretty nutty about life. Kerry has been nuts about Brazil and is nuts about his wife and children now. Kel was nuts to marry him, but that is a miracle too. So now we are nuts together and enjoy what we do. We are missionaries with BEA Ministries to the Portuguese speaking world. Located in the
busiest economic center of South America, we volunteer our time with COMEV, an audio-visual ministry that started 35 years ago. Together we are enjoying what God brings into our lives, the good & the hard. We are currently members of Calvary International Church were we thoroughly enjoy serving. This blog is to help you accompany the different aspects of our family and ministry involvements. Thanks for keeping us in your prayers.
