Roof Repairs

After talking to some neighbors and contractors we were able to get a "professional roofer" to come and look and fix our leaky roof. My goodness, the Lord had really protected us. These older houses had been built with soft concrete and we got to the roof just in time. Zé, the roofer came one morning and started the work. We decided to replace the entire roof line and use the larger ridge tile piece, rather than the simple rounded tile that had been used. 62 tiles, 20 bags of hard cement, a new central gutter and 3 days of work helped put our roof back in order. What a spectacular view of God´s creation from our roof top. Makes me want to build a 3rd story loft just for the view. The trees, lake view and city skyline are amazing. But lets you know what humidity and the bugs must be like around here. Our next house project... screens on the windows.

The gutter line is not wide enough and is flat, letting the wind push rain water into the attick.

Soft cement was crumbling into powder, letting rain wash into the broken spaces.

Zé is a great man with lots of experience in roofs. That is all hey says he works on, and there is PLENTY of work, he says.
